Hummus

Hummus is a dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. “Hummus” comes from the Arabic word ḥummuṣ meaning “chickpeas”. It is popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean regions. It can also be found in most grocery stores all around the globe. Though everything is easily available these days in store but we still prefer to make it at home to avoid the preservatives. Hummus is very easy to make at home. Hummus can be eaten with Falafel and Pita Bread as a main course or simply be eaten with bread for breakfast or with Chips as well.

There are various versions of Hummus i.e Plain Hummus, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus,Roasted Garlic Hummus and so on. In this recipe we will make Roasted Red Pepper Hummus as Topping ,Do try this recipe with different Flavors.

  • In A Mixing Jar, Take 1 Cup Boiled chickpeas
  • Add 1/2 Cup Roasted Sesame Seeds
  • Add 1 Tsp Salt
  • Add 4 Garlic Gloves
  • Add 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • Grind The mixture to a fine paste
  • Add 2 Tsp water to thin the paste
  • Put 1/4 Cup Olive Oil to the Hummus Paste
  • Mix well
  • Add 1 Tsp Red chilli powder and Spread it all over.
  • Garnish it with some chopped and Roasted Red Bell Pepper for the Flavour
